Counsel
For prominent law firm. This position will work with legal and non-legal professionals to provide clients with practical, innovative, and cost-effective solutions in the eDiscovery, information governance, and data privacy services markets.
Duties: Provide clients with the highest level of service, including identifying legal issues with clients and providing legal analysis and solutions. Provide advice to team members on applicable laws and the interpretation of legal documents while properly managing the risks to the Firm. Responsible for keeping the Firm informed on new laws, regulations, and industry trends that affect the business as well as assisting with the development of policies and training as necessary. Prepare/execute on an annual basis a business development plan that targets new work from new and existing clients. Identify business development opportunities that result in business generation. Lead client engagements and teams with little oversight. Deliver client work product that requires little to no revisions and edits. Coach and mentor junior team members. Build cohesive teams that bring value to client engagements. Provide technical knowledge and insight. Interact and handle a range of clients. Maintain current and accurate time records, ensuring that time entry deadlines are met. Billable hours requirement.

Position Requirements: At least five (5) years of law firm experience. JD from accredited U.S. law school. Admission to bar in at least one of the following jurisdictions: California, Illinois, Minnesota, Virginia, Washington D.C. Ability to travel up to 50% percent of the time. Ability to travel internationally. Possess excellent judgment and ability to work successfully within deadline constraints.Demonstrated ability and thought leadership in one or more practice areas. Strong technical, client management, project plan design, facilitation, and project leadership skills. Excellent organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of legal principles specifically on eDiscovery, information governance, and data privacy and be up to date with the existent and emerging law legislation and practices. Ability to function in a high-energy, fast-paced environment. Must be technology-adept.
