OUR CLIENT
The General Services Administration (GSA) provides centralized procurement for the Federal Government, offering billions of dollars worth of products, services, and facilities that federal agencies need to serve the public.
GSA’s acquisition solutions supply federal purchasers with cost-effective, high-quality products and services from commercial vendors. They help federal agencies build and acquire office space, products, and other workspace services, and oversee the preservation of historic federal properties. Policies covering travel, property, and management practices promote efficient government operations.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD
The Senior Contract Specialist will provide a variety of functions in support of the GSA Southwest Supply Operations Center Fort Worth, Texas. Duties will include but are not limited to:
Assist with developing contract modifications assist GSA Contracting Officers (CO and Contract Specialists (CS) with performing, at a minimum, the following:
• Review modification requests for completeness and evaluate IAW the applicable solicitation and SSAC’s processes and procedures.
• Corresponding with contractors regarding mod requests (i.e., assist with providing status updates, request supporting documentation, etc.)
• Assist and support CO/CS on execution or rejection of MODS to the MAS, and Supply
• Making appropriate updates to the eMod system as needed for final CO execution.
• Drafting other required internal documentation for MODS (i.e. memo to the file) for MAS and Supply Contracting Officer review and approval.
• Updates to the contract files with the mod documentation.
• Researching contract history in preparation for opinion.
• Gathering option compliance and sales data
• Assist the CO/CS with GSA contractors by providing instructions to completed option packages
• Ensuring option documents are submitted timely.
• Preparation of recommendations for MAS and Supply contracts.
• Drafting approval documents
• Assist with time sensitive special projects
• Reviewing workload trackers and updating internal spreadsheets with in-process status.
• Removal of any Authorized Negotiators that are suspended or debarred
• Provide weekly status reports a includes a list of all options or other assigned task reports currently in progress, list of all offers or other assigned task reports that are completed, list of all options currently being processed, and list of all options exercised.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline
• Five (5) years of relevant experience in a federal government/defense contracting environment
• Must be able to research and analyze contract and financial data.
• Must have an in-depth working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), DFARS, GSAM and other government agencies supplemental procurement regulations.
• Ability to perform complex cost and/or price analysis functions is desired
• Familiar with MS Office products
• Excellent writing skills and be ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing at a technical level
• Capable of working with individuals at all levels
• Capable of working as a team member or individually
• Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
