Senior Benefits Coordinator (Leave Administration focus) - for top tier law firm in Washington, DC. **This is a hybrid position with some in office work for new hire benefits orientation. This position is primarily responsible for the administration/management of leave programs including Short Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, Parental Leave, Workers Compensation and family medical leaves. Candidate will oversee leave programs for compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities: Manage leave claim filing events such as distribution of leave application packages/forms, coordination of medical review process and communication of leave status to employee, supervisors and/or managing partners or leave coordinators, and Payroll department. • Communicate leave information with all appropriate claim filing entities to facilitate timely and appropriate follow-up. Oversee all leave tracking to include timely status updates and changes to the Human Resources Information System and associated leave tracking systems. Prepare and maintain monthly leave reports for Senior Management. Manage and review all requests for ergonomic accommodation. Assist with the administration of firm’s health and welfare and retirement plans. Assist with coordination of Benefits Open Enrollment process as needed. Conduct Associate/Counsel Orientations. Back up for Staff Orientation as needed. Assist with the completion of Benefits surveys.
Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree preferred, 5-7 years benefits administration experience required with at least 3 years of law firm leave management experience (multiple state locations ideal), strong working knowledge of FMLA, ADA and state leave laws, strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Workday (or similar HRMS software) ideal, excellent interpersonal and written communication ability, strong customer service orientation and ability to work as a part of a team.
