Manager, Career Development & Advancement for prominent global law firm in NYC.
**This is a hybrid role with some in office work.
This role is responsible for strategic career guidance to lawyers and firm alumni, developing career development resources/programs, and collaborating with stakeholders to enhance the attorney experience at the firm.
Some duties include: Providing individual career development, guidance and coaching to lawyers on firm integration; navigation of firm procedures and resources; performance coaching; and short- and long-term career planning.
Writing, editing, and compiling resources and newsletters to promote strategic career development and advancement of attorneys, including a regular updates for firm committees and practice groups.
Developing programming regarding career development/advancement for attorneys and alumni, including on-demand video programs and programs, diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, professional development training, associate and partner mentoring, and practice group needs.
Position Requirements: J.D. or advanced degree related to career coaching or counseling required. Successful experience counseling lawyers or law students regarding career development required. Experience with project management and program creation and implementation required. Proven success with diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives relating to attorney career development ideal. Supervisory/Management experience preferred. Strong proficiency in database programs, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Excel, and Smartsheet. Excellent interpersonal skills, strong judgement, and ability to maintain confidentiality required. Strong written communication skills. Public speaking skills preferred. Understanding of the legal profession and hiring trends/practices required. Salary is commensurate with experience $165k to $200k.
