Senior IT Technician for top global law firm in Palo Alto, CA.
This role is responsible for leading local IT operations and providing a high-quality technology experience. This role is the sole IT Tech onsite and is 90% desktop/hardware support . This is an onsite position (8:30am 5pm PT M-F). This role serves as an addition to the Infrastructure, Applications, and Service Management IT teams, providing local technical knowledge, troubleshooting, and systems support. Ideal candidate has strong law firm technical experience across a wide range of technology solutions, including end-user technology appliances, and the applications and services that run on them, office devices and endpoints
Responsibilities: Supports Regional IT Manager, delivering service that is responsive to identified incidents and proactive in continuously improving technology solutions. Leads support at a local level for regional staff, providing continuity in escalation support. Diagnoses/resolves technology problems in a timely manner. Manages the lifecycle of regional technology. Configures/deploys end-user and office devices. Participates in identifying and supporting delivery of proactive maintenance/upgrades. Supports the measurement and reporting of services to evaluate effectiveness. Participates in identifying known technology problems, partnering with IT teams to both remediate and document knowledge articles to prevent issues . Participates in administrating, monitoring, troubleshooting, and supporting regional endpoints, appliances, and devices. Serves as an extension of the centralized AV team to enable collaboration and conferencing. Operates well without specific direction and close supervision, supports junior staff as needed. Manages maintenance contracts with various vendors. Works well as part of a team on technical projects.
Position Requirements
College degree preferred, Technical certifications (MCSE, Cisco CCNA). At least five or more years of relevant experience, ideally in a large Law Firm. Expertise with Windows 10 and later, Microsoft Office 365 / 2021). Experience in troubleshooting and repairing end user devices and appliances. Experience with current PC imaging standards, hardware configurations, memory configuration techniques, and peripheral hardware and software. Experience with Audio Visual conferencing technologies (hardware and software). Experience with routers, switches, and other networking equipment. Experience with secure LAN infrastructure, firewalls, and VPN technologies. Experience with remote systems such as Citrix. Experience with laptop lifecycle management. Knowledge and understanding of networking infrastructure and devices. Ability to interact with suppliers, end users, and co-workers in a professional manner to deliver a gold-standard experience. Salary is commensurate with experience 80k 113k Plus OT pay and generous benefits.
