Airconditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic (Full Time)
Salary $75000 + superannuation
Duties and Responsibilities
• Interpreting job requirements from drawings and setting up installation reference points
• Creating holes, fixing mounting brackets, and shaping, bending, and threading piping.
• Installing, maintaining servicing, and repairing HVAC systems and equipment.
• Securing pipes to connect equipment through bolting, soldering, riveting, welding, and brazing, and verifying alignment and fit accuracy.
• Identifying maintenance risks on equipment.
• Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
• Cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems, and performing warranty services.
• Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
• Providing technical direction and on-the-job training.
• Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
• Extracting test gases and fluids with vacuum pumps, then refilling the systems with refrigerant.
• Inspecting and refurbishing refrigeration systems, identifying issues, and repairing or replacing faulty components.
• Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and with Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Complying with service standards, work instructions and customers’ requirements.
• Assisting with customers’ queries.
Qualification and Experience
• Have a minimum AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZCO Skill Level 3) or higher qualification at least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications.
• Fluency in English
• Australian PR or Citizen preferred.
• Have a minimum 3 years’ experience as a HVAC Mechanic.
• Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in reading schematic and work plans.
• Current Qualified Supervisor Certificate is must
• An ability to plan and work autonomously as well as within a team.
• An ability to work in flexible hours, over weekends and on public holidays with short or no notice.
• Ability to work in confined spaces, attend callout repairs when required
• Strong technical skills and knowledge of HVAC systems
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Good communication and literacy skills
