Job Description

HCA Solutions is currently seeking qualified candidates to serve as Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner in the Federal Detention Center (FDC) in Philadelphia, PA!

This is a full-time W-2 position offering long-term placement, health benefits, and paid time off.

Schedule is five (5) days per week, normally consisting of a total of forty (40), one-hour (1) sessions per day, Monday through Friday (except Federal holidays), normally between the hours of 7:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., with a 30 minute unpaid lunch period.

Provide Physician Assistant services which includes, but is not limited to:

Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services for the inmate
Take medical histories, examine patients, and order and interpret laboratory tests and x-rays
Make a diagnosis, provide treatment plans and prescribe medications
Clinically manage injuries by suturing, splinting, and immobilizing
Attend to medical emergencies
Record progress notes, recommend clinically necessary outside consultation, instruct and counsel, and order or carry out therapy
Emergency consultation to be performed by the contractor in instances where deemed necessary. Perform minor surgery utilizing local anesthesia during consultation visits
Work collaboratively with the staff physician(s) and consulting physician(s) in planning, instituting, evaluating and revising program plans
Assists in determining conditions, resources and policies essential to delivery of the health care services
Discriminates between normal and abnormal findings to recognize early stages of serious physical, emotional, or mental problems
Manages the daily operation of the clinic and conducts daily sick call; which may include securing health histories from the patient, recording findings and providing clinical evaluations
Administers and documents medications accurately according to policy/procedure and physician orders. Administers immunizations and tuberculin skin testing as ordered.
Provides a wide range of emergency services, in the absence of the physician
Requirements

Valid and current registration as a professional Physician Assistant/ Nurse Practitioner
Minimum of 3 years recent experience in acute care, ambulatory care, Medical/Surgical or psychiatric care facility.
One year, or more, of experience in a correctional environment is preferred, but not required
Experience in a correctional health care setting preferred, but not required.
Must be Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified, in accordance with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
ACLS certification, preferred.
Current Negative TB Test Results
Proof of any vaccinations, including Hepatitis B and COVID -19
