Aeromexico flight safety record is good, with no major accidents in recent years.

Aeromexico is a relatively safe airline.However, the FAA downgraded Mexico's air safety rating to Category 2 in May 2021. This means that Mexico's civil aviation authority, AFAC, does not meet all of the international safety standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

The FAA's downgrade does not necessarily mean that Aeromexico is unsafe. However, it does mean that there are some concerns about the safety of Mexico's aviation industry as a whole. Aeromexico is working with AFAC to improve Mexico's safety rating, and the FAA has said that it will consider restoring Mexico's Category 1 status once AFAC has addressed the concerns.
